Health insurance plans sold both on and off of state health insurance exchanges must be purchased, renewed, or modified between November 1, 2016 and December 15, 2016 in order to include a policy-start date after January 1, 2017.

 

Medicare advantage insurance plans must be purchased, renewed, or modified between October 15, 2016 and December 7, 2016 in order to include an effective date of January, 1 2017 or later. 

2017 Enrollment Information

Anyone enrolling for the first time, renewing, cancelling, or changing a health insurance or Medicare advantage plan under the Affordable Care Act must do so during the open enrollment period demonstrated by the calendar below. Federal laws stipulate which days will mark the beginning and end of this period for each type of consumer. Medicare Advantage customers will see their open enrollment period first from October 15, 2016- December 7, 2016. Shortly thereafter the regular health insurance open enrollment period begins on November, 1 2016 and runs through December 15, 2016.
